Mariano Baldassare Medici (born on 8 September 1772, died on 1 October 1833) was a dominican inquisitor and bishop.
He was born at Bologna and entered the Order of Preachers. In 1795, he was ordained priest. He was named inquisitor of Bologna in December 1824; he was the first inquisitor of Bologna after the abolition of the Bolognese Inquisition during the revolution of 1796. He occupied that post for eight years. On 17 December 1832 he was appointed bishop of Cervia and in January 1833 received episcopal consecration. He died few months later, at the age of 61.
According to French writer and traveller Antoine Claude Pasquin, Medici was mild and widely respected dominican. Pasquin claimed that despite accepting the inquisitorial office, Medici was not an enthusiast of the restoration of Inquisition.
