Libello antiromano di 39 pagine pubblicato a Londra nel 1748, An Authentick Narrative of the Original Establishment and Progress of the Inquisition in Italy, Spain and Portugal. With the Efforts used by the Church of Rome, to Establish this Tyranny in Great Britain, France, Germany, &c. To which is Added, the Ceremonies Used at an Act of Faith, or Execution of the Inquisition ha avuto un ruolo importante nella costruzione e nella diffusione della cosiddetta "leggenda nera" dell'Inquisizione. Nonostante ciò, il testo è stato quasi del tutto ignorato dalla storiografia inquisitoriale.
Il libello si ispira dichiaratamente a due fonti: la Relación Historica del Auto General de Fe, que se celebró en Madrid este Año de 1680 di José Vicente del Olmo (Roque Rico de Miranda, Madrid 1680) e l'Etat present de l’Espagne, ou l’on voit une géographie historique du pays (stampata in 3 volumi a Parigi presso Antonin des Haye nel 1718 e ristampata ad Amsterdam presso Steenhouwer & Uytwerf nel 1719).
